We had a spectacular meal and I even chose the vegetarian option! For anyone that's known me more than 10 years, that's quite a surprise as I'm usually a meat and potatoes kind of girl. Mark had the non-vegetarian option and we enjoyed trying both of the degustation meals immensely.
We were a bit shocked on sitting down at the table to see some champagne glasses, alongside the wine and water glasses. Mark secretly thought "That's a bit presumptuous", are they trying to up-sell. As it turns out, Lori & Markus had organised a surprise glass of French champagne for us to start the night off right. It was extremely thoughtful and lovely!
Mark chose two half bottles of French wine so we could try different styles and they were both lovely, especially the Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Bourgogne 2007.
All of the dishes were excellent, but the stand-out on the night was the quail. See selected pictures from our wonderful meal.
